All accidents involving employees during working hours or
while on library premises and all other accidents in which the library or its
property are involved directly or indirectly, including those involving patrons
of any age, are to be reported immediately to the Library Director.
Any unsafe working conditions are to be reported as soon
as possible to the Library Director.
First aid kits are available at the library if necessary.
In the case of a fire in the building, all patrons will
be asked to leave the building immediately. The library has three exits that may be used
in case of fire. The main door, the
emergency exit looked on the first floor behind the stacks and the emergency
exit on the steps to the basement.
If inclement weather has been predicted and/or appears to
be approaching, the librarian will turn the television to a local station for
updates. If power goes out, the
librarian will turn on a battery operated radio for updates.
In
the case of a tornado warning, all patrons will be asked to accompany the
librarian to the basement immediately.
Patrons unable to use the stairs to the basement should go to the
restroom on the first floor.
Disaster Plan Signs with directions to the basement, the first floor restroom and the fire exits are placed in each room of the library.
