MORRISON AND MARY WILEY LIBRARY EQUIPMENT AND
COMPUTER USE POLICY
The Morrison and Mary Wiley Library reserves the right to
limit, refuse and/or ban any patron from using the library equipment and
computers. Use is limited to patrons in
good standing (all fines have been paid, all overdue materials have been
returned and any lost materials have been paid for.)
Anyone
under the age of ten must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while using
library equipment or computers. Children
under the age of 18 are required to have a parent or guardian sign a permission
form before they begin to use the computers.
Usage for equipment and computers is on a “first come, first served”
basis. All patrons shall sign in at the
circulation desk prior to use of the computers.
Patrons must fill in the Computer Use Sheet with their first and last
name, date, time signed in, time signed out and number of computer used. If all computers are being used when a patron
arrives, they will sign their first and last name to the computer use
sheet. A patron will be able to
determine when a computer will be available by checking sign in times on the
computer use sheet. Once one patron is
finished with the computer, the next patron on the computer use form who is
waiting will fill in the time and the number of the computer they will be
using. Patrons are asked to remember to
write in a sign out time when they are done using a computer. All patrons must speak with a librarian
before use of any of the other equipment (fax, copier and microfilm machine).
Use of
computers is limited to 30 minute blocks, however, the patron may continue to
use the computer until another patron wishes to use it. Copyright laws forbid duplication of
copyrighted software. The library may
restrict the use of personal software on library computers. There is a charge of $.20 per page for black
and white printing and $.50 for color printing.
Library staff may provide assistance to patrons with the computers, as
time and staff knowledge permit. The
library has Wifi available for patrons use.
The library is equipped with a wireless network. This means that patrons may bring in their
laptop computer and connect to the internet.
The rules for all computer use are the same. Patrons may not view material that is
inappropriate for children to view.
Appropriateness of material will be determined by library staff.
The
library has a copy machine that may be used by patrons. The cost per copy is $.20. The library has a fax machine that patrons
may use. The cost is $1.50 for the first
page and $1.00 for each additional page, if the fax is sent in
.
