MORRISON AND MARY WILEY LIBRARY INTER LIBRARY LOAN POLICY

8/8/05

Patrons may request that a book be ordered for them through Inter Library Loan

when the Morrison and Mary Wiley Library does not have a copy of the title they would

like.  Patrons must give staff the name of the book, name of the author (if available), their

name and their phone number.  The staff will request the book from another library within

two business days of the patron request.  The library receives deliveries from ALS Libraries

on Wednesday and Friday.  Once a book is received from the lending library, staff will check

the book in within two business days and contact the patron.  The patron will have two weeks

to pick up the book.  After that time, the book will be returned to the lending library.

Materials borrowed through Inter Library Loan have a circulation period which is

determined by the lending library   The Morrison and Mary Wiley Library is happy to borrow

materials from other libraries for patrons, but we ask that the date by which those materials must

be returned to their home libraries is respected.  When the Morrison and Mary Wiley Library is

lax in returning materials borrowed through Inter Library Loan, the library can lose the privilege

of borrowing materials for any patrons.  It is crucial, therefore, that materials borrowed through

Inter Library Loan be returned by the date written on the paper attached to the front of the book.

Habitual failure to return books by due date may result in an individual’s loss of the privilege in

order to preserve the privilege for other library patrons
